The Mill's Hallway Takeover

Mundy’s Mill Middle Collaborate with Science ATL in Hallway Take Experience. The Science Lives Here Hallway Takeover is a month-long pop-up exhibit that placeten 24x36” posters of diverse local STEM professionals in different public schools each year. The goal is to foster hometown pride in Atlanta as a Science City and cultivate a sense ofbelonging in science through the representation of ethnically diverse STEM professionals. Each poster comes with a QR code linking to the STEM professional’s profile and story on our website. Students scanned the code and learned about the STEM professional while they are completing a mini scavenger hunt. This experience provides students’ awareness of STEM careers in their community, and sense of belonging in STEM. Additionally, Science ATL provided support by funding for Mundy’s Mill Middle STEM program initiative in the amount of a $500 cash award.

In an empowering addition to this immersive exhibit, the indomitable Dr. King, an Associate Professor of Science Education at Georgia State University, is a trailblazer in sculpting tomorrow's scientific visionaries hosted a lunch and learn for the students. Her passion for positivity resonated as she spearheaded science education programs citywide, inspiring children and K-12 teachers to envision themselves as catalysts for positive change through the boundless realms of sciencehttps://scienceatl.org/science-lives-here/natalie-king/
